ART ACADEMY INFORMATION

Redbrick Mill   218 Bradford Road   Batley  West Yorkshire   WF17 6JF

'Coming to the Art Academy at Redbrick Mill has literally changed my life'.      Jane

The Art Academy at Redbrick Mill began in 2008 as a combination of workshop space and studio space for the artists Tony Noble and Tom Wood.

The workshop space is a large flexible studio on the top floor of a former woollen mill. The majority of the mill is now fully developed as high quality retail space specializing in furnishings but the Art Academy retains many of the features of the original mill including large windows and exposed beams. It is a popular and creative space in which many art activities take place.

'Think of a robust, rugged, industrial loft space, yet a space softened by warmth, colour, light and creative activity........that's what the Art Academy means to me. People are serious about their art here, but the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, probably fostered by Tom's own relaxed air. I have never found it competitive but there is a serious commitment to the group's activities'.

Rob.
